Our first day at Bootcamp went as I expected. X did a great job telling us for what was to come and I am pleasantly surprised how the day went. Today was a day of mostly paperwork and memorization. In this field, there are many terms and abbreviations that are used. In addition to this, we also went through the many documents used for production including a call sheet, day out of day, one-liner, and shot schedule. One of the best things I learned was when they brought in a working PA. Unlike them who work at the Bootcamp and do occasional PA work, he does that full time. The stories he told and just his general feelings towards his work really reaffirmed my feelings for this field and how much I want to break in.
Hi! Glad to hear you survived PA Boot Camp. Nothing like getting a taste of what it takes to be successful from those who are actually doing the job everyday. Lots of hard work and dedication needed to make it in the industry. Starting as a PA at the bottom rung of the ladder is a great way to learn the business. After all, no matter what we decide to do in life that's where we all start... At the bottom. Ed
